{"id":2897,"date":"2012-11-27T20:21:38","date_gmt":"2012-11-28T03:21:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/?p=2897"},"modified":"2012-11-27T20:21:38","modified_gmt":"2012-11-28T03:21:38","slug":"one-less-reason","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/2012\/11\/one-less-reason\/","title":{"rendered":"One Less Reason"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since moving to the beautiful northwest, I have few reasons to return to the extreme cold, heat and desert of Salt Lake City.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 There are some good reasons, mind you, including people <i>(my daughter, granddaughter, mom and a few friends)<\/i>, a couple of restaurants (<em class=\"b\">Cafe Rio, Asian Star<\/em>) a french bakery (<em class=\"b\">Glaus<\/em>) and <em class=\"b\">Xpedx.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>But today I have one less reason.<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"floatright\" title=\"RIP Xpedx\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/xpedx1-226x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\" \/>I love Xpedx in Salt Lake City.\u00c2\u00a0 I never pass up an opportunity to stop and shop from its cavernous offerings of paper, shipping supplies, ribbons, gift boxes &#038; bags, bolts of wrapping paper, plastic serving ware and more &#8211; all very reasonably priced.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ve never been in another store like it.<\/p>\n<p>Today I received the sad, sad news that<em class=\"b\"> Xpedx is closing its doors<\/em> of the flagship store (Salt Lake) this week &#8211; Friday is their last day.\u00c2\u00a0 I am so sad, and now have one less reason to visit Salt Lake.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 The only stores offering anything close to what Xpedx has are &#8220;me-too&#8221; paper and craft stores for scrapbookers.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>No thank you&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll save time and shop online.<\/p>\n<p>R.I.P\u00c2\u00a0 Xpedx SLC.\u00c2\u00a0 You will be missed (by me, anyway).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since moving to the beautiful northwest, I have few reasons to return to the extreme cold, heat and desert of Salt Lake City.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 There are some good reasons, mind you, including people (my daughter, granddaughter, mom and a few friends), a couple of restaurants (Cafe Rio, Asian Star) a french bakery (Glaus) and Xpedx.
