As you peruse these costumes from halloweens yore, keep in mind <em class=\"b\">my mother made all of them <\/em>(except 2).<\/p>\n<p><strong>1969&#8230; <\/strong>Don&#8217;t the <em class=\"b\">cat-eye glasses<\/em> just make the genie outfit?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"floatright\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/halloween_1969a.jpg\" alt=\"Halloween 1969\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>1976&#8230;. <\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/halloween1976.jpg\" alt=\"Halloween 1976\" class=\"floatleft\" \/>I really don&#8217;t know what we are, but after these picture were taken, Michelle, Jeri (her sister) and I went driving around with flour in pantyhose, swinging them out of a car at people trying to cover them with flour powder. <em class=\"b\">It didn&#8217;t work<\/em>, but we laughed a lot nonetheless. <em>Oh, and if you guessed my mom didn&#8217;t make this outfit, you&#8217;re right.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I think this was also around the time that Jeri had me make prank phone calls to some guy asking him to bring a 3 bean salad to a dance (or something). Maybe Michelle remembers it better&#8230;.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p>Jumping ahead&#8230;. <strong>to the 80<\/strong>s&#8230;. <em class=\"b\">aren&#8217;t Brandon &amp; Ashley cute<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/halloweenduck.jpg\" alt=\"Daffy Duck and a genie\" class=\"floatleft\" \/>Brandon is Daffy Duck &#8211; and I wish I could locate the picture of him from the side so you could see his tail poke out. It was really cute. And poor Ashley is stuck in my <em class=\"b\">pathetic attempt<\/em> to create a genie costume for her. She doesn&#8217;t seem to mind, but it&#8217;s an embarrassment after the professional costumes my mom whips up.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"238\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/halloween-princess.jpg\" alt=\"Princes and the leopard\" height=\"343\" class=\"floatleft\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"245\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/halloween-genie.jpg\" alt=\"Genie &amp; Leopard\" height=\"341\" class=\"floatright\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>And saving the best for last&#8230;.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1982<\/strong>. I am a VERY pollinated flower, here with the bee that pollinated me. Ashley was born about 3 weeks later.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/halloween-flowerbee.jpg\" alt=\"A pollinated flower\" class=\"floatleft\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/halloween-mrbee.jpg\" alt=\"Mr. Bee\" class=\"floatright\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p>I burst out laughing every time I look at this photo. Mostly because I remember Mark wore it to work at Zions bank&#8230;. and he <em class=\"b\">rode the bus <\/em>to get there, with briefcase in hand.
