I’m experiencing an equal sense of hope and dread about the upcoming election.\u00c2\u00a0 I am SOOOO ready for a change from the idiocy we’ve been operating under for the past 7 years (which would be laughable if it weren’t so completely\u00c2\u00a0depressing\u00c2\u00a0)<\/em>…..\u00c2\u00a0 and yet what will the change bring?<\/p>\n

I’m looking at the polls and wonder who all these people are who are so excited about Hillary.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m not.\u00c2\u00a0 And even though I run with a pretty progressive\/liberal crowd, none of my compatriots are thrilled with her either.\u00c2\u00a0 Most are in the Obama camp, one is true-blue Kucinich, though I think we’d\u00c2\u00a0vote for Hillary over any of the choices the Republicans are serving up….\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0but none of us want her to get the Democratic nomination, so I am curious – who and where are all these Hillary supporters??<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0 Why don’t I know any?\u00c2\u00a0 Do you?\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s not that I think she wouldn’t make a good president, it’s that I’m really ready for a CHANGE.\u00c2\u00a0 A progressive <\/em>change.<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0 It’s been Bush\/Clinton\/Clinton\/Bush\/Bush for almost 20 years, and I think there is so much bad blood that it will be difficult for many to look past their hatred of her husband and give her a chance.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 (At least that’s the scuttlebut I hear from my conservative relatives.)<\/em><\/p>\n

I like Obama<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0 He’s smart.\u00c2\u00a0 He’s articulate.\u00c2\u00a0 He’s hopeful.\u00c2\u00a0 He’s inspiring.\u00c2\u00a0 He brings a fresh perspective.\u00c2\u00a0 He has the “it” factor….\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 he’s the kind of person I think could facilitate mending the beleagured spirit of our nation, and also rebuild our tattered and strained relationship with the rest of the world.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 To bring some dignity and respect back to the office of the president.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n

But I’m afraid he won’t get the nomination, and my choice will be Hillary vs. the unthinkable – she’ll lose and we’ll be in for more warmongering, wire tapping, big\u00c2\u00a0pharma & black water\u00c2\u00a0and kissing the environment, equality and personal\u00c2\u00a0liberties\u00c2\u00a0goodbye.<\/p>\n
