Vernon, home to the annual <em class=\"b\">Tulip Festival<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Jealous?\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">In March, you can drive around Mt. Vernon and see acres and acres of daffodils. Tulips in April. Iris in May.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><em class=\"b\">I love the northwest.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/tulipvase2.jpg\" alt=\"I love tulips\" class=\"floatright\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">While at Central Market <em>(great place for natural foods) <\/em>Tuesday, I noticed a sign\u00c2\u00a0announcing the arrival of the Mt. Vernon hothouse tulips, just the day before! \u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">And there they were&#8230;. <em class=\"b\">rows of fresh cut tulips <\/em>in a rainbow of colors&#8230;.\u00c2\u00a0 for only $4 per 5 stem bunch.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Prices get even lower when they start cutting in the fields.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">Obviously, I had to have three bunches.
