Chris\" height=\"200\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 200px\" title=\"Michelle &amp; Chris\" \/>After a delayed flight and then being caught in a &#8220;security breach&#8221; at SeaTac, Michelle &amp; Chris<em> (whom Michelle keeps calling Erica) <\/em>were finally reunited with their luggage and found Kristin &amp; I at door 14 last night.\u00c2\u00a0 Hugging and laughter ensued.\u00c2\u00a0 Laughter continued through the entire ferry ride to Bainbridge island and drive to our lovely hotel in Poulsbo, WA.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Kris &amp; Chris hadn&#8217;t seen each other for nearly 30 years, so we had a LOT of catching up to do.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;ll get to it after a good night&#8217;s sleep.<\/p>\n<p>Day 2:\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 <strong>Note to travelers:<\/strong>\u00c2\u00a0 The Holiday Inn Express in Poulsbo, WA is a delightful place to stay.\u00c2\u00a0 Michelle oooohd and aaaahed over the fluffy white towels, and the continental breakfast was a big hit.\u00c2\u00a0 Especially the waffles.\u00c2\u00a0 Michelle will be calling 1-800-Holiday to give her review and report.\u00c2\u00a0 We drove to Port Angeles, stopping to take photos of some tractors at a charming farm in Sequim, then boarded the ferry to Victoria.\u00c2\u00a0 More laughter.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0So much, in fact, that several older men who were sitting next to us got up and left&#8230;\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0what a surprise&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"15\" align=\"left\" width=\"300\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/emp.jpg\" hspace=\"10\" alt=\"Empress Hotel Victoria\" height=\"200\" style=\"width: 300px; height: 200px\" title=\"Empress Hotel Victoria\" \/>We spent the afternoon exploring down town Victoria, posing and playing in the gardens at the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fairmont.com\/empress\">Empress Hotel<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This is such a charming city with beautiful architecture, friendly people, and baskets of flowers hanging nearly everywhere.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The virgina creeper covering the hotel walls were just starting to turn to\u00c2\u00a0flaming fall colors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" vspace=\"5\" align=\"right\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/ka.jpg\" hspace=\"10\" alt=\"Kristin &amp; Allison\" title=\"Kristin &amp; Allison\" \/>We almost ate at the trendy &#8220;Earls&#8221; but due to being seated directly under a booming speaker, we decided to seek out another eating establishment.\u00c2\u00a0 We ended up at the delightful\u00c2\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.irishtimespub.ca\/\">Irish Times Pub<\/a>, where we were seated in a cozy little library.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>More laughter ensued&#8230;.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 particularly when Kristin flashed us her bra to illustrate a story she was telling &#8211; and then I disovered a gentleman at the next table had caught a glimpse.\u00c2\u00a0 I asked if he enjoyed the show, and he started clapping.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 We all had tears from laughing to hard, and I nearly fell out of my chair.\u00c2\u00a0 You know, there is just nothing like letting your hair down with girlfriends and sisters.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow:\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/archives\/54\">Butchart Gardens<\/a>!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a delayed flight and then being caught in a &#8220;security breach&#8221;
