{"id":92,"date":"2007-11-13T02:01:08","date_gmt":"2007-11-13T09:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/archives\/92"},"modified":"2007-11-13T02:03:09","modified_gmt":"2007-11-13T09:03:09","slug":"sir-hides-a-lot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/2007\/11\/sir-hides-a-lot\/","title":{"rendered":"Sir Hides-a-lot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kitty has a name.\u00c2\u00a0 Actually he has two names.\u00c2\u00a0 I call him <em class=\"b\">Sweetness<\/em>, because he is such a sweet, cuddly fellow &#8211; lies with his head resting on my shoulder as I brush him.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But his formal name is <em class=\"b\">Sir Hides-a-lot<\/em>.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 He is a complete scaredy cat, who hides the moment he hears a knock on the door or any loud or mysterious noise.\u00c2\u00a0 Here are a few of his favorite spots.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/hidingdesk.jpg\" alt=\"Between my desk and the wall\" class=\"floatleft\" \/>This is one of his &#8220;safest&#8221; places, because no one can reach him.\u00c2\u00a0 He wedges himself in a little nook between my desk and the wall &amp; peeks out into the living room.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He also likes to hide behind the washing machine in the laundry closet but I couldn&#8217;t get a photo.<br \/>\n\u00c2\u00a0<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/hiding_mixer.jpg\" alt=\"Behind the mixmaster\" class=\"floatright\" \/>He wouldn&#8217;t stop meowing in the kitchen <em>(even after being fed)<\/em>, so I opened the cupboard door and he happily sat behind the mixmaster for an hour.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/hiding_vcr.jpg\" alt=\"Sweetness behind the VCR \/ dvd player\" class=\"floatleft\" \/><\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p>Here he is behind the vcr\/dvd player in my media cabinet.<br \/>\nHe can sleep here for hours. Another favorite spot.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/hiding_fax.jpg\" alt=\"Behind the fax machine\" class=\"floatright\" \/><br \/>\n<br \/>\nAn occasional favorite spot is behind the fax machine &#8211; which is on the top shelf of a bottom cupboard in the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>He seems to have an attraction to electric appliances, doesn&#8217;t he?<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;\"><\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/silenceoftheclams.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/hiding_cupboard.jpg\" alt=\"In the credenza\" class=\"floatleft\" \/>And finally, in the credenza in my office. I thought he&#8217;d escaped a week or so ago when I left the door open to run upstairs to tell my neighbor she was flooding my condo.<\/p>\n<p>I searched all his favorite spots and outside as well &#8211; but no kitty. After about 5 hours, I heard a soft banging behind me in the cupboard <em>(where I really had looked)<\/em>. I opened the door and there he was, nap over and ready to socialize again.
