I took my camera with me when I ran errands yesterday…. I don’t often do that because it is heavy and a pain to haul around.Â
But I was rewarded when I came upon a garden of dahlias – standing taller than I am – some nearly 7 feet, with blooms as big as a dinner plate.Â
The sky was lightly overcast giving me perfect lighting to capture the glorious colors. Â
I’ve added several to the “Through My Lens” rotation to the right, but wanted to feature a couple of them for you here.
The gardener was delighted when I asked if I could photograph his bounty and proceeded to tell me all about his floral babies.
This one was larger than my spread hand and looked like a flower of flames…. very cool.
AMAZING. Beautiful, I love them!
Your pictures and your camera are simply gorgeous. I’m looking forward to seeing some of these blooms when we are there!!!
I wish I could have been walking through the garden with you ! What a sight it must have been. Your pictures are beautiful….you should make and sell your note cards with these on them :o)
SO beautiful, mom! Those colors are so bright- and I can’t believe they were that big! Wow… what a sight.
lol- I’m a poet, and I didn’t even know it!
“I don’t often do that because it is heavy and a pain to haul around.” Allison! How could you say that!!! ;c) You see, it’s when you always carry around your camera when you find things like this. I think I would be lost without my camera. I even bring it to work with me and when I go to lunch! You never know what you’re going to see. I started doing that after the day I saw a gorgeous baby hawk (can’t remember which kind) sitting on a lightpole about 25 feet away right outside my window in Charlotte at work. The entire time I kept staying “I wish I had my camera!” He stayed there for almost 2 hours!!
Ali-
You are so talented! The photos are beautiful. You have a way with the camera lady! love and miss you!
