Oh, Kuhn Rikon Epicurean Garlic Press, how did I live without you for so long???
I’m really not much of a cook (I prefer baking) – but man, oh man, cooking just got a whole lot easier in my kitchen. I can’t believe I’ve been chopping garlic by hand all this time.
What kitchen tool(s) can YOU not live without?

I have wondered about that utensil. I hate peeling garlic. How many clams do you give it?
I don’t know about ALL garlic presses, but I’d give this one 9 out of 10 clams!
I know nothing about garlic presses but I may get this one upon your recommendation. I buy garlic already minced in jars, but I understand from just about everyone that it doesn’t compare to freshly minced garlic..
I did quite a bit of research before I bought this one – if you click the picture, it will take you right to amazon where you can read all the reviews and/or buy it. I really like it…. there is nothing like fresh garlic.
This is a tough one, I have lots of things I really like. High on the list would be my pineapple slicer: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/sku8281909/index.cfm?pkey=cctlfvtfru
HA! I have had the same garlic press for like almost 30 years!!! They are wonderful. Does the Magic Bullet count as a Kitchen Tool? Well then, I use mine every day. I just discovered two days ago that it would grind my coffee!!!
I’d have to say my Quisinart food processor… It saves hours of work.
most of my recipes call for garlic and / or ginger pastes. I used to make these with a mortis and pestle. I’ve since found that I can buy either one in a bottle at safeway. I have a really cool chopper that I bought from williams sonoma that I sometimes use, but the thing that would be a major handicap to me if I were without is my cast iron skillet. I’ve got some really nice calphalon pans and skillets that sometimes get used, but my cast iron is my right arm. Oh, and my hinkle knife.
I too love my cast iron skillets – I have ten and twelve inch ones. However, for most of my every day cooking I use my set of calphalon, not so much becuase they’re good to cook with, but because they are so easy to clean!
We just bought a new Cusinart coffee grinder that is muy muy efficient and quiet..we now grind fresh coffee every morning.
Okay, I will chime in to add my praise to cast iron skillets. I have about 12 of them of various sizes, and a cast iron muffin pan, as well as a griddle and cast iron waffle maker. There’s a cast iron wok on Amazon that I am determined to get sometime this year.. : )
But I am not familiar with calphalon pans. Will google it to learn more.
I also have come to depend a great deal on wooden spoons for just about all kinds of cooking.
I wish all you people who liked to cook lived closer to me so I could drop by for dinner 🙂
I love my Circulon sauce pans, I use one every day. I also couldn’t do without my Pampered Chef (lol, I know) chopper which is falling apart I use it so much.
I love my garlic press (pampered chef) And the new pans we just got… and I have one really good knife that I just love. And Chris- I have a P.C. chopper that I love as well. 🙂
I really like my handy dandy plastic pot scraper that came with my pizza stone from Pampered Chef. 🙂 Yes, I also use it to scape my pizza stone, but it works wonders for all sorts of burnt on food on my other pots as well. I love it!
I like the cookies sheets that Craig & the kids make cookies on. And the rectangular plans they made brownies in. I like the round pan that Craig makes cheesecake in. I also really like the ice-cream maker that Craig makes me ice cream (the sugar free is actually very good) with.
Hmmmmm There seems to be a pattern. I guess I don’t particularly care what pan or appliance it is, as long as someone is making me treats with it.
