This is the view outside my current home – a hotel room at Extended Stay Deluxe.

The reason I’m living in a hotel room is because my bathroom looks like this:
Since it’s my only bathroom, and both the toilet and sink are torn out, my insurance company has put me up in a hotel room since Sunday night. I’m not loving it.
Learned today they’ve located one leak, but have one more condo (top floor) to check and make sure there are no other sources. I’ll be here another week at least….
On the bright side, it will be great to have a mold and moisture free bathroom that smells fresh instead of mildewy. And I’m taking this opportunity to have tile and a new vanity installed when they put it all back together.
All I can say is thank heaven for home owners insurance! Have you ever had to use your HO insurance?
Hooray for insurance and for new tile/vanity … sucky ducky for having to stay in a hotel. 🙁
But soon you’ll be out here and then you’ll forget all your troubles! Haha
I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t loving your hotel stay, but at least you have something to look forward to when you get to go back home!
We never had to use our HO insurance for anything, but we also didn’t own our home for very long. We only lived there for about two years before we sold it so that Brett could go back to school.
Sorry about the inconvenience, it will be worth it though. After paying home owners insurance for years and years to Farmers, when I really needed them, they let me down. The story is long and complicated and I felt completely betrayed by them. Even their own insurance adjuster was on my side, but eventually, I had to give up and was sued by the dishonest woman in the condo below me for $25,000.00. That’s life I guess!
Very exciting to have a beautiful nice smelling bathroom when you are done with this ordeal. I’m glad your insurance is working too. I’m with Kathleen. We haven’t had the best experiences with home insurance either.
Your view is very nice. We have not had to use HO yet, hopefully we won’t. It will be nice to have new tile and vanity. What are you going to put in there?
Years ago a mail man tripped on my front stairs and sued my ho. It went so smoothly that I don’t even know how much money the schmuck got. About the construction….We are having our little cabin next to the house rebuilt. I wish I was in a hotel. All the stuff from over there is stacked over here in the house and the contracters are taking there sweet time in doing anything. I think it was the series “murphy Brown” where Eldon, the painter, was always around. That’s how I’m starting to feel about our contractors. It’s like there becoming part of the family. This too shall pass, hopefully.
I loved Murphy Brown… though having an Eldon around all the time might drive me nuts. Didn’t he end up playing nanny to her baby?
I’m still in a hotel, but moved into a much nicer one – got a great rate at the Hampton Inn… which I only got because I walked in and asked about it 🙂
