So you’ll probably be hearing about my little garden a lot if you visit my site very often.  I purchased a ground floor condo last year, and have spent the summer completely ignoring the bylaws which restricts my area of ownership to my patio. I’ve always felt that rules were more like ‘guidelines.’  Fortunately, my neighbors like it.
Here is how the back yard area looked when I moved in.Â
It has taken all summer, because rather than dirt, I discoverd the beds filled with rather large rocks, but several months and bags of compost/topsoil later, I have a lovely garden off my patio – complete with a waterfountain. It makes me happy.

Such a cute corner, I love that bamboo fountain.
I can’t wait for it to get under 100 degrees so I can start planting my “winter” flowers.
Allison you need to come overhaul my awful yard. I suck at yardwork. Yours is a Garden of Eden, er, Allison.
It is so beautiful! I can’t wait until I can come see your garden 🙂 (a little over a month!!)
I also wish I had my own place so that I could do a garden… I’ve inherited your love of flowers.
Chris – I’m afraid I’m not big on yardwork either. And I don’t think you could pay me to spend time outdoors in that sweltering Arizona summer. We have such lovely, temperate weather here…. nice, long growing season.
But I’m great at shopping at the nursery 🙂 and then planting flowers -enough of them that weeds can’t grow. This little yard is just about the right size for me. Anything bigger and I’d need a gardnerer 🙂
Allison – love what you did to your limited space. Very colorful!!
