I love my new iPad 2.
Maybe more than any other gadget I’ve ever owned…

Although I’ve really liked (and still do) my iPhone, I have a hard time reading on the small screen, and can’t stand typing on it. I wanted something that was more portable than my laptop, bigger than my iphone, easy to read on – and fun. And the iPad is it!
I made it through all levels on the free Angry Birds game (a bit addictive).
I created the colorful blue abstract background with the ArtRage App. That program is even more addictive than Angry Birds – plus it’s a great creative outlet.
I’ve discovered Toodeldo for list keeping (which is a pleasure on the large, yet portable, iPad screen). I’ve downloaded Kindle, Pandora, Netflix, NPR, Huff Post, NASA, StarWalk, GoSkyWatch, Xfinity Apps. I’ve discovered Hangman HD (which combines the fun of Hangman with current events).
So… any other “must have” apps you can recommend?
Yea!!! I have such a testimony of my iPad. So happy we can share apps too. The screen is such a perfect size and yes typing is sort of annoying but not bad, maybe you should invest in the keyboard. The latest app that I have discovered is The Vault, check it out.
I’m feeling the love. I love my iPhone as well and need the small size cause it needs to fit in my pocket. I do agree that typing on it is quite anoying.
So glad you found such a great fit! Sounds like you are discovering some great apps and having a fun time getting to know your new true love. 🙂
oh your new toy sound so fun. I want one!! I don’t know if I could learn to use it well though. One day!! one will find a home with us.SOONER than later I HOPE.
Congratulations on the new gadget!! I love my iPad too! I bought a swivel case by Targus at Beat Buy that let’s you stand it up vertically or horizontally. Very nice.
As for apps, you already have most of my favorites. I downloaded a speed typing test just to see how fast I was and can do about 75 wpm – not as fast as a regular keyboard, but certainly not bad. The travel apps for Kayak and TripAdvisor are pretty nice. And I recommend a better browser than Safari – one that allows tabs and other options like full screen mode. I’ve been pretty happy with Perfect Browser, although it sometimes crashes on me. Google Earth is fun to play with. Office2 HD for word processing/spreadsheets and syncing with Google docs. Dropbox and evernote for storage. I’ll show you more when you get here next week. 🙂
Ok, now I want one. My iPhone 4 just doesn’t do everything, anymore. Haha.
Looks like there are a few apps I’m going to have to download!
Apps we like are DoodleJump, Fruit Ninja, and Trace. Fun games, for sure.
Must download the Scrabble app. I’m addicted on my iPhone!
May the two of you have hours and hours of fun together.
I am totally jealous! I want an ipad sooo bad.
I found a fun app the other day called hanging with friends it’s like words with friends, only it’s a hang man style game where you have to guess each others words. It’s made by the same people.
If you download it, look me up! My username is kayscoth 🙂
