  1. It’s funny and sad. Isn’t the U.S. ranked almost last in academics? I saw where they had a reporter at some university asking students what year 9/11 occurred, most didn’t know.

  2. That IS sad. She sure made me want to get behind the efforts in South Africa and Iraq, though. And also the educational systems for “U.S. Americans that don’t have access to maps.”

That dude holding the microphone was trying not to bust out laughing.

  3. They gave her an opportunity to answer the question the next morning on TV..It was a little better but not much…

The phrase “Blonde Moment” comes into mind

  4. I wish Jon Stewart hadn’t been on vacation this week – I’d have loved to see what he would do with it on the Daily Show. Maybe he still will….

  5. OMG, after she speaks, there are several options of different videos at the bottom. Watch the 3rd one from the left. The 3rd one in the series.. a british guy asking Americans questions … geographical, political, historical.. and HOW STUPID WE ARE AS A PEOPLE. Do you think it was scripted? It scares me that he could show people a map of the world and identify Australia as Iran and ask people if we should attack from the north, south east or west, and they don’t even know the map is a joke…

He pretended to be the prime minister of Australia, and it’s hilarious the reception he got from people….

OMG we’re doomed with such stupidity. We may as well laugh at it while we can.

  6. Oh, that was so sad…. funny, but frighteningly sad. These people should NOT be allowed to vote.

  7. Uh… where is South Carolina? 😉
I would vote for this girl because I was one of those “U.S. Americans” who never had access to a map.

  8. She’s only eighteen years old, young enough to be a product of the ill-conceived (as Bush was by his parents) No Child Left Behind Act although I’m sure Bush would have taken pride in her answer! The man is an embarrasment to primates everywhere.

  9. Ken Burns was on The Bill Maher show last week and stated that many of the kids in the US today believe that the US fought along side the Germans in WW11 to defeat the Russians.

  10. Go to the menu now and find the one where they compare her statements with some by Bush… It’s hilarious. I love it when he says, ‘Give my chance a plan to work.’
