Loving:

Rachel Maddow. Normally I avoid cable news networks at all costs. But I caught a YouTube video of Rachel Maddow’s new show on MSNBC a couple of weeks ago and may just have to turn in every day to watch this Ph.D and Rhodes Scholar.

Unapologetically liberal, she is intelligent, witty, articulate and fair minded. She offers calm and intelligent discourse (based on facts). My liberal leaning friends will love her.

Anticipating:

Comdeian/Political Satirist Bill Maher takes on all the silliness of religions around the world in this comedy/documentary called Religulous. An advocate of “reason”, Maher is sure to be highly irreverent and offend millions of people. I can hardly wait. (Not for people to be offended, but to go LMAO in the theatre.)

Unsurprised:
Not surprised
I mean, come on.

Was ANYONE surprised by this?

Annoyed… and then pleased:

debate.jpgMcCain wanted to postpone the planned Presidential debate Friday night so he could rush back to Washington and inject his vast economic experience into solving the current economic crisis (as if his de-regulation policies weren’t partially responsible for what’s happened…)

But Obama said, no way.

“With respect to the debates it is my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in roughly 40 days will be responsible for this mess,” he said. “I think it is going to be part of the president’s job to deal with more than one thing at once. I don’t see why we can’t be constructive in helping with this problem.”

So what happens if Obama is the only one to show up?

I have been tuning into Rachel Maddow all week, she is fabulous and you are right she is fair minded…quick, sharp and funny. Did you catch Palin being interviewed by Katie Couric? No wonder they are trying to keep her mute until after the election.

McLame is throwing another Hail Mary with the wanting to postpone the debate for the sake of the country/economy…whatever! This is what McSame does when the polls are not in his favor, he calls a razzle dazzle as Chris Matthews said tonight. Problem is those Hail Marys aren’t usually very effective.

Bottom line here is McCain looked anything but “presidential” this week, he came across as a flip flopper, shoot from the hip blustering fool.

p.s. Probably the Claymates are the only ones surprised by his obvious admittance.

SO unsurprised by Clay’s outing. I actually thought he had already come out…

He really wanted to postpone? Sad, sad, little man. I am excited for the debates. I think this is the first time I’ve ever been excited for a presidential debate… and scared at the same time.

I love Bill Maher, I do find him a little offensive sometimes, but he is so brilliant and entertaining, I can forgive him almost anything. I also can’t wait to see this film, unless it won’t be allowed to play in Utah. I remember having to wait until I went to England on a visit to see The Life of Brian. Clay Aiken is Gay! Talk about stating the obvious. As for McCain, he’s a pathological liar, with a pathological running mate. I detedt them and their ilk!!!!

I’ve heard it suggested by a couple of analysts that rather than trying to postpone his own debate, perhaps McCain is actually trying to postpone the VP debate… preferably til after the election 🙂

Palin’s sorry explantion of her state being near Russia is absurd on so many levels. Does that mean every governer who borders canada or mexico has “foreign policy” experience??? I think not….

Robert on September 26th, 2008 at 6:01 am

Not only is the ‘proximity to Russia’ rant nonsense…. but she actually stated the state of Alaska has had dealings with Russia. Carefully avoiding stating she had anything to do with those dealings.. But, the real kicker is that states have cultural ties with various other countries.. but that is all. Foreign policy is carried out at the federal level. This woman hasn’t had ANY foreign policy experience, even if it is revealed she approved some cultural delegation going to Russia or some other routine thing…

I saw parts of her Couric interview at the airport…. her statement that ‘it (Russia) is right there… next to the state I am the executive of… and Canada is on the other side.” So what? Has she been to Moscow or Ottowa and negotiated anything? So what if they’re right there?

The woman is so out of her league…

Robert on September 26th, 2008 at 6:11 am

Clay Aiken is gay, and so is Rachel Maddow (as a matter of fact)..

One more tidbit on the Palin interview.. At the airport when it was announced “coming up, Sarah Pahlin speaks to Katie Couric about her foreign policy credentials,’ a woman next to me said, “Well that will be the shortest interview in history.”

When it came on and she was making her ‘it’s right there, and Canada is on the other side,’ statement, there were moans and groans everwhere. People laughing to themselves and shaking their heads…

If Obama wins, we can all laugh about the absurd choice McCain made.. I am not trying to insult Sarah Pahlin as a person. She may be a very nice person. But, anyone who thinks she is ready to possibly be president has a real problem with reality.

Allison on September 26th, 2008 at 11:36 am

Yes, I knew Rachel is gay. Have you been watching her show? She’s fabulous.

Polls continue to move Obama’s way…. I hope he does well in the debate tonight (we all know debates are not his strong suit)

Robert on September 28th, 2008 at 1:35 pm

No I’ve not seen her show. And as for Aiken’s announcement, it was about as much of a shock as the announcement by Rosie O’Donnel that she was a lesbian.. LOL..
