My Valentine

My Valentine
I asked Kennedy to be my valentine this year.

She said yes.

Her mom set up an email address for her so she can send me messages. This is her first email to me:

“hi grandma. this is my e-mail. I wanted to say hi and I love you for as long as you’re alive.

And I’ll love you still and you’ll still love me after you’re dead.”

Now that’s love.

  1. Kids say the sweetest, funniest things. 🙂 We are excited to go see if your Valentine package has arrived yet.

  2. Kids seem to be too aware of death. At least once a day I’m asked by little Javier that if he dies would I cry? And like Kennedy, if I die, he will cry ‘everyday.’ I don’t remember thinking about death that much when I was 7.

How fun for her (and you too) to have email to communicate now.

  3. that’s very cute. Although I’m not sure why kids seem ‘well acquainted’ with death… maybe they only relate it to being gone. If you were gone, she’d love you just the same.:)

  4. Oh she is such a funny girl… she cracks me up constantly.

I, too, love your heart bubbles, as well as the little hershey’s hugs lying on the ocean floor.

  5. darling, sweet funny and smart little girl.
